Medicines are issued to the patients on medicine book:MS PIC Dr. Muhammad Javed

Lahore: Medical Superintendent Punjab Institute of Cardiology, Dr. Muhammad Javed has termed the news items regarding stoppage of medicines to the outdoor patients by the hospital administration as baseless. He said that medicines costing lakhs of rupees are being provided free of cost to the patients by the doctors on duty in the outdoor of the hospital.

Dr. Muhammad Javed further said that the medicines are issued to the patients on medicine book provided by the PIC to the patients. However, the medicines are not issued to the patients on plain chits written by the young doctors on strike sitting outside the outdoor. Dr. Muhammad Javed said that PIC administration had issued medicines on medicine books to the patients who were examined by the doctors sitting outside outdoor, after getting them examined again from the outdoor doctors. Dr. Javed made it clear that it is necessary as per precautionary measure that the medicines should not be issued to the patients on plain chits so that record of the medicines could be maintained and no wrong medicine be issued to any patient.
