JI warns against unconstitutional, undemocratic change

Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the Supreme Court verdict in the Rental Power case was in accordance with the law and the constitution.

He said, if the PPP still wanted to cling to power, it should bring forth a new Prime minister as Raja Pervaiz Ashraf had practically lost the office of the Prime Minister after the SC decision.

Liaqat Baloch said that Dr Tahir ul Qadri and his followers in Islamabad had the right to stress upon their demands which were in line with the law and the constitution.

He however said, in such a situation, the democratic forces should remain alert so that no one could deprive them of democracy, judiciary and the constitution.
