Calligraphy is the basic source for conservation of Holy Quran:Rana Sana

Minister LawLahore: Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that calligraphy is the basic source for conservation of Holy Quran. He said that Islamic calligraphy is also a source of highlighting our lost culture however, its limitation to only pen and paper and non achievement of the objectives hidden in this message will be our great mistake.

He was addressing the concluding ceremony of 3rd National Calligraphic Exhibition at Alhamra Art Gallery, here today. Executive Director Ghazali Education Trust Amir Mehmood, President Calligraphy Association Pakistan Khursheed Gohar Qalam, Adeeb Jawdani and national and international calligraphists were also present on the occasion. Rana Sanaullah said that full attention was paid towards calligraphy during the era of “Khalafat-e-Rashidah” especially it was promoted during the tenures of Hazrat Usman (RA) and Hazrat Ali (RA). He said that there were such kings who used to earn their livelihood through calligraphy. Later, the Law Minister distributed shields and certificates among prominent calligraphists.
