Mansha Ullah Butt orders crackdown against wheat hoarders

Lahore: Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Food, Muhammad Mansha Ullah Butt has directed all Deputy Directors Food of the province to constitute monitoring teams in their respective areas and present a report regarding availability of flour and stability of prices.

He directed to immediately launch a crackdown against those involved in creating artificial shortage of flour, overcharging and profiteering. He said that with the grace of Almighty Allah, Punjab has sufficient stock of wheat and there is no shortage of flour. He said that mill owners have been directed to supply flour continuously in the market. He said that the quota of flour mills involved in irregularities will be suspended and no pressure or Safarash will be accepted in this regard. He appreciated the positive attitude of those mill owners as are providing flour regularly.

He said that on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister, supply of flour has been ensured to all shops, fair price shops and Sunday Bazaars. Later, he visited different bazaars of Ichhra, Mozang and Shadman and sought information from the people and shopkeepers about availability and prices of flour. He said that sufficient quantity of flour is available in the market at the rate fixed by the government.
