CM takes notice of shortage of wheat

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of artificial shortage of wheat and atta in a few cities of the province and directed Food Department to take strict action against those responsible for it. In his directive to the Food Department, the Chief Minister said that shortage of wheat and atta is not logically possible as stock of 27 lakh metric ton wheat is available.

Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab government has not only abundant stock of wheat to meet the food requirements of the people, but has sufficient wheat for food security as well. Ordering strict action against those who created artificial shortage of wheat and atta, the Chief Minister said indiscriminate action should be taken against such elements, along with those involved in hoarding of wheat and atta. He directed that immediate steps should be taken to remove artificial shortage of wheat and atta.
