Punjab govt dismissed Tahir ul Qadri allegations

Lahore: Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said that Punjab government of Pakistan Muslim League-N has not stopped any political party from holding of public meetings or protest demonstration and the rival political parties have arranged processions, meetings and rallies in Punjab to their heart’s content. He said that Punjab government has provided protection to every public meeting and rally and never shirked its responsibilities in this regard.

Senator Pervaiz Rashid totally rejected the allegation of Tahir-ul-Qadri that Punjab government is impounding vehicles to stop his long march. He said that Tahir-ul-Qadri is leveling such allegations only for the fear of failure and even the workers of Tahreek-e-Minhaj-ul-Quran surprised at the summersaults he has taken since public meeting on December 23. He said that the allegations leveled by Tahir-ul-Qadri against Punjab government are like the allegations of rigging leveled by a candidate who has lost in election. He said that the five year record of PML-N government is proof of the fact that even such political parties have arranged public meetings in the province and thanked the Punjab government for security arrangements which had no existence in Punjab. He said that only a few days ago, Tahir-ul-Qadri held a meeting in Lahore on December 23 for which the Punjab government has made security arrangements. He said that portraits and flexes of Tahir-ul-Qadri are hanging at every tree and electricity pole of the province which is a proof of the fact that Punjab government does not believe in stopping any political party from holding of public meetings or rallies in the province.
