Lahore: Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Liaqat Baloch has demanded of Chief Minister Punjab and IG Punjab to bring the culprits to justice behind the killing of Ovais Aqeel, an activist of Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT).
He expressed his views while talking to IJT delegation led by its Nazim-e-Ala Zubair Safdar here at Mansoora on Wednesday. The delegation briefed him about the progress of Ovais Aqeel murder case and sought his cooperation as the provincial authority had failed to bring to book the responsible. “The IJT has cooperated at all level with the government regarding Ovais Aqeel murder case but the killers are still at large,” the delegation said.
The JI secretary general formed a joint commission of JI and IJT in order to take measures in Ovais Aqeel murder case. The commission will be headed by Liaqat Baloch and Ameer JI Lahore Mian Maqsood, Deputy Ameer JI Punjab, Ameer-ul-Azeem, Nazim IJT Punjab, Rasul Khan Babar, Nazim PU Rai Haq Nawaz, Abdul Muqeet and Haris Saeed with its members.
