MQM and PML-Q support for the long march is a comic:Ch Nisar Ali Khan

Lahore: The Leader of the Opposition, Ch. Nisar Ali Khan has said that the support of MQM and PML-Q for the long march of Tahir ul Qadri is a comic drama, and a worst and unique example of opportunism, deception and expediency. He said MQM is that party which is enjoying the fruits of power, for the last ten years, while PML-Q has also enjoyed the similar situation by ruling, first under the obedience of General Pervaiz Musahraf, and, later, remained in the corridors of powers, in connivance with Asif Zardari. He said both MQM and PML-Q are still part of the government, therefore the announcement of these parties to participate in long march against their own government is completely ridiculous, and a worst example to dupe the people. He said how can those who took part in every deed of General Pervez Musharraf and Asif Zardari can now have the temerity of hoodwinking the people.

Ch. Nisar Ali Khan said that it is quite interesting to note that, during the referendum of 2002 and afterward Tahir ul Qadri, MQM and PML-Q were the pillars of illegal and unconstitutional government of Pervez Musharraf, and termed General Pervaiz Musharraf as the saviour of the country. He said how can those who demanded votes for the unconstitutional referendum of General Pervez Musharaf can now talk about constitution, democracy and transparency before the people of Pakistan. He said the people of Pakistan are not deaf, blind and dumb, and they will not believe in the political chicanery of these people. He said the whole nation is unanimous to participate in the forthcoming general elections, however, these people want to create rift, under their specific agenda, through meaningless acrobatics. He said the bubble of Tahir ul Qadri would prove to be even more temporary than Imran Khan’s bubble. He said all political parties have already agreed on an independent and autonomous Election Commission, alongwith a highly honest Chief Election Commissioner. He said this process has materialized, not on the roads, but in accordance with constitution, law and parliament. He said that decision regarding the caretaker government would also be taken in a similar atmosphere which would, Inshahallah, be acceptable to everyone.

Ch. Nisar Ali Khan said that, like an independent and autonomous Election Commission, a unanimous caretaker setup would also be brought about, in accordance with constitution, law, and in consultation with all political parties. He said the political system of the country is not so weak that decisions would be made on the roads, as a result of political calisthenics. He said there is no possibility of a “Bucha Sukka” or a “Hallako Khan” in the political system of Pakistan. He said that those who remained away from the problems and difficulties of people of Pakistan, during the last five years, and lived abroad in a comfortable environment, have now suddenly come back to play a puppteering role, under a specific and negative agenda to create hurdles in Pakistan’s democratic, political and constitutional process.

However, Ch. Nisar Hussain said, people of Pakistan are not that naive as to be deceived by them. He said, Inshahallah, the predictions about 14th January by these political acrobats would also meet the same fate as the fate of Mayan prediction of end of the world on December 21st. Ch. Nisar Ali Khan said that those who consider themselves big political leaders, just on the basis of one public meeting, would soon come to realize their true worth by the people.
