PEF decides to launch an active citizenship programme for subject specialists

Lahore: Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has decided to launch an active citizenship programme for subject specialists posted in partner schools of the PEF. He said that under this programme, subject specialists besides teaching will also create awareness among the students about diseases including dengue so that a healthy and responsible young generation could be brought up.

This was disclosed by Chairman Punjab Education Foundation Raja Muhammad Anwar while addressing the concluding session of a 2-day training workshop at the head office of the PEF. Besides subject specialists of partner schools of various districts, Deputy Managing Director Aamir Iftikhar and other officers attended the workshop. Raja Anwar told that PEF under the Subject Based Support Programme, has appointed master degree holder subject specialists in English, Math, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and these subject specialists are also assisting in capacity building of the teachers and improving the performance of these schools. He said that due to this programme the educational condition of small and medium private schools has improved considerably. He said that PEF is providing free and quality education to the poor and destitute children through public-private partnership model.

Earlier, Director PEF Bushra Saeed Khan informed about the aims and objectives of the workshop in her welcome address. At the end, Raja Anwar distributed certificates among the subject specialists.
