Provincial Irrigation Department has closed eleven perennial canals

Lahore: Provincial Irrigation Department has closed eleven perennial canals in the first phase under Annual Desilting Campaign. These canals include, Lower Jhelum Canal, Rasool Qadirabad Link, Qadirabad Balloki Link, Lower Bari Doaab Canal, Balloki Sulemanki Link, Upper Pakpattan Canal, Eastern Siddiqa Canal, Jhang Branch, Upper Chenab Canal, Central Bari Doaab Canal and Tounsa Canal. The spokesman of Punjab Irrigation Department has said that water in these canals has been stopped from December 26 and the desilting campaign would be started from December 30.
