Lahore: Under special instructions of Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi, National Fertilizers Corporation (NFC) will shortly be opening a mega fertilizers store in Gilgit-Baltistan for promoting agriculture and removing difficulties of the farmers of the province thus ensuring timely provision of fertilizers at cheaper rates for preparation of crop.
This was stated by NFC Chairman Rizwan Mumtaz Ali while talking to Gilgit-Baltistan Finance Minister Muhammad Ali Akhtar who held a special meeting with him here today. On this Occasion, Rajab Ali and National Fertilizer Marketing Limited General Manager Fakhar Cheema were also present on the occasion.
Rizwan Mumtaz Ali said that promoting agriculture and appreciable increase in the production of fruit and other crops in Gilgit-Baltistan is our first priority. He said the store will have the capacity of 1.5 lakh metric tons of fertilizers whereas transportation of fertilizers will start next month and with the establishment of this mega store, long standing problem of farmers of Gilgit-Baltistan of timely supply of fertilizers on cheaper rates will be solved because so far fertilizers was being acquired from Khyber Pukhtoonkhwah and it was out of farmers purchasing power due to transportation and other additional expenses.
Gilgit-Baltistan Finance Minister Muhammad Ali Akhtar thanked Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi and NF Chairman Rizwan Mumtaz Ali for opening of fertilizers mega store in Gilgit-Baltistan and said because of their special efforts, long standing demand of the farmers of the province has been solved
