JI slates fixed gas bill for mosques and churches

Lahore: Deputy Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, has slated Sui Gas authorities’ decision to charge a minimum of Rs. 3000 per month from the mosques, churches, educational institutions and hospitals, and termed it unjust and tyrannical.

In a statement here, he said these establishment would have to pay this amount in any case. He said the move against the mosques and religious institutions appeared to be a part of the international agenda. He said the JI would challenge this in the law court.

H also slated OGRA’s move to raise the gas charges for domestic consumers, and said this was another undue burden on the poor .
