Lahore: Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mashhood has said that all arrangements are being given final shape in connection with celebrating Working Women Day on December 22, so that women from every walk of life could fully participate in this ceremony.
He stated this while presiding over a meeting regarding Working Women Day held at 8-Club Road, here today. The meeting was attended by Advisor to CM Zakia Shahnawaz, male and female assembly members, Secretary Women Development Department Irum Bokhari and representatives of concerned departments.
Secretary Women Development, Irum Bokhari apprised the meeting in detail of practical steps taken for the welfare of women. Special responsibilities were assigned to female assembly members to commemorate Working Women Day on December 22 in the meeting. Addressing the meeting, Rana Mashhood and Begum Zakia Shahnawaz expressed the resolve of government to give due rights to women at every level so that their presence be felt in the development and progress of country.
The meeting decided to hold a walk for recognizing the importance of working women before the mega event of December 22. They said that by participating in this walk, women from every walk of life would express their confidence in the policies of provincial government.
