PPP is not sincere to restore peace in Karachi:Nawaz Sharif

Lahore: President PML-N, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that PPP and its allies are not sincere to the restoration of peace and tranquility in Karachi. He said that PML-N joined the government in 2008 in the interest of the country and its people but seeing the lack of interest of the federal government in the solution of people’s problems and its failure to keep its promises, PML-N quit the government within a few weeks. He said that we are only interested in the progress and prosperity of the country and betterment of the masses.

He said that Supreme Court, in its recent decision, had ordered action against the militant wings of different political parties but the government has made no progress in this regard. He said that the killing of innocent people in Karachi is a matter of concern and shock. He said that peace and law and order can be restored in Karachi only through a neutral administration and a police force which is free from political pressure. He said that if given opportunity by the people, PML-N will attach top priority to the restoration of law and order in Karachi and the elements destroying peace and harmony in Karachi will be dealt with an iron hand as no one is above the law.

He expressed these views while talking to a delegation from Sindh led by former Chief Minister Liaqat Jatoi in Raiwind, today. Former Provincial Minister of PPP Abdul Hakeem Baloch, former Member Sindh Assembly and leader of Tehrik-e-Insaaf Michael Javed, former President PPP Jacobabad, Aslam Abru, prominent industrialist of Karachi Asif Qureshi, former DIG Akbar Bhangwar, Muhammad Saleem Baloch, Riaz Ahmed Baloch and Abdul Ghani Kaloti while expressing their complete confidence in the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, joined PML-N. The delegation also included Shafi Jamot, Dr. Badar Channa, Shafique Ahmed Khosu, Zafar Ali Shah, Mushtaq Jatoi and Yaser Abru. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif welcomed them in the PML-N and said that their joining of the party is a proof of the growing popularity of PML-N in Sindh. He said that PML-N will field strong candidates in Sindh in the forthcoming general elections and peace and law and order will be restored in Karachi with the consultation and cooperation of all segments of the society. Former Provincial Minister Sindh, Abdul Hakeem Baloch invited Nawaz Sharif to visit Karachi and Sindh. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that he will soon make a plan to visit Sindh including Karachi soon.
