Lahore:The affectees of Metro Bus Project called on the Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at Model Town, here today and apprised him of difficulties and problems being faced by them regarding their businesses and payments. Members Provincial Assembly Hafiz Mian Muhammad Nauman, Ajasim Sharif, former Member Provincial Assembly Haji Muhammad Sharif, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Commissioner Lahore Division, Chief Establishment Commissioner, Secretary Excise & Taxation, Director General LDA and officers concerned were present.
Talking to the affectees of Metro Bus Project, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that metro bus project is a glorious public welfare project, which would bring about great revolution in public transport system in the provincial metropolis, along with promoting economic and business activities. He said that he realizes the difficulties being faced by the affectees of Metro Bus Project, and assured them that the payments of their properties would be made in accordance with their market value, and the demands of justice. He said an 8-km-long flyover is being constructed at the Metro Bus route, so that the business activities of citizens do not get negatively impacted. The Chief Minister directed that all claims of Metro Bus Project affectees should be dealt within one week, and the report be submitted to him in this regard. He said that, while making payments to the affectees, it should also be kept in view that right of no one is infringed. He directed that the payment process to the affectees should be made simple and easy, so that they do not have to face any botheration regarding payments. He also directed Secretary Excise to extend tax rebate to the traders, for the period their business activities got negatively impacted due to the Metro Bus Project. He said all affectees should be given their due right, in accordance with the demands of justice.
The affectees of Metro Bus Project apprised the Chief Minister of their problems and said that metro bus project is a great public welfare project and prayed that Allah Almighty may make it successful. The affectees also thanked the Chief Minister for sympathetically considering their problems, and making the process of payments simple and easy.
