PSC to make sure quality seed at cheaper price:Malik Ahmad

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Agriculture and Chairman Punjab Seed Corporation (PSC) Malik Ahmad Ali has issued instructions to the Board Management for the sale of quality seed of wheat and other crops to the farmers at affordable rates and said that PSC is playing a key role in the promotion and development of agriculture sector while welfare of the farmers is the top priority of Punjab government.

Talking to media after meeting of Board, he said that quality seed is very important for obtaining good crop. He said that industrial sector also depends upon agriculture. He said that the staff at seed processing plants will have to make greater effort so that high quality certified seeds of all crops could be made available to the farmers easily in all seasons.

The Minister assured that all out assistance will be provided to PSC for supply of high quality seed to the farmers for their betterment. He said that it is a matter of satisfaction that farmers have complete trust in the institution and are purchasing seeds of wheat, cotton, rice, grams, potato and other crops from PSC dealers. He stressed upon the officials of the PSC to perform their duties with commitment and dedication. The Board meeting was also attended by Chairman Planning & Development, Secretary Finance, Secretary Agriculture, Managing Director PSC Sher Alam Khan Mahsood, DMD Dr. Ajmal Haider, Director Administration Afshan Kiran, Director Information Rafique Akhtar, Tariq Mehmood, Shahbaz Shah and others.
