World community to protect Myanmar Muslims:Liaqat Baloch

Lahore: Jamaat e Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch has called upon the world community to adopt immediate measures to stop the genocide of the Muslims in Myanmar at the hands of the Burmese government and army. He was talking to a delegation of the Burmese Ulema who called on him at his residence on Saturday. The four member delegation is led by the president of the Burmese Ulema Council, Maulana Tahir Arakani.

Liaqat Baloch said that the world and the Pakistani media which had played up the attack on Malala was completely silent on the massacre of the thousands of men, women and children of Myanmar who were the target of the untold brutalities of the Burmese government and army and extremists. Their habitations were being put on fire and their mosques, schools and Madrissahs were being demolished. The human rights champions and the Opposition leader of Burma were silent spectators to the massacre of the innocent Muslims. He urged the Bangladesh government to realize its religious duty
And provide shelter to the Myanmar refugees crossing over to their land.

The JI leader deplored that the Pakistan government as well as the OIC had done nothing for the Myanmar Muslims except passing resolutions. He said it was the moral and religious duty of the Muslim world to make joint efforts for the security of the life and property and honour of the Myanmar Muslims.
