Lahore: Provincial Minister for Agriculture and Divisional Incharge Muharram Committee, Malik Ahmed Ali has said that senior officers should personally monitor security arrangements during Ashura-e-Muharram instead of depending upon their subordinates.
He issued these orders while presiding over a meeting of the officers at Commissioner’s office, today. He directed that security plan should be reviewed afresh and extraordinary steps should be taken with the management of the majalis and processions for immediately removing the flaws. He said that parking should be made at safe places and every person should completely be searched. Provincial Minister said that number of police pickets should be increased on entry and exit routes and active officials should be deputed there.
He warned that no negligence on the part of the officers will be tolerated in the security matters. Earlier, Provincial Minister Malik Ahmed Ali also visited, Alipur, Jatoi, Kot Chatha, Chuti, Layyah, Rajanpur and other places and reviewed the security arrangements there. He also issued on the spot orders to redress the problems being faced by the management of majalis and processions.
