Khursheed Shah, Samsam Bukhari,Firdos Ashiq Awan and Ahmad Mukhtar call on PM

Islamabad: Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah and Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Syed Samsam Ali Shah Bokhari called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf here at the PM House on Wednesday.The Minister for Religious Affairs informed the Prime Minister that his ministry was currently analyzing the Hajj operation carried out this year. This analysis, he said, would help in improving the operation further in the coming years.The Prime Minister appreciated the Ministry of Religious Affairs for the excellent arrangements for the Hujaj.

Talking to Syed Samsam Ali Bokhari, the Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to redouble its efforts to highlight the achievements of the government and improve the image of the country.

Minister for National Regulations and Services Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf here at the PM House on Wednesday and briefed him on the recently passed Drug Regulatory Act (DRA).She informed the Prime Minister that the DRA was a regulatory body, which had been established to monitor and facilitate health care in the country.The authority, she said, would work in cooperation with the provincial governments and ensure quality, standardization and fair prices of medicines in the country.The Prime Minister hailed the establishment of DRA as a giant leap towards providing quality medicines at affordable prices to the people.This, he said, would help the people in provision of better health care, which was one of the basic needs.The Prime Minister expressed the hope that the DRA would carry out its duties in accordance with the mandate and streamline its enforcement mechanism to ensure that the quality of drugs in the country was maintained at par with international standards.

Minister for Water and Power Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf here at the PM House on Wednesday and apprised him about the current energy situation in the country.

The minister said that in accordance with the directives of the Prime Minister, every effort was being made to improve service delivery and manage the available electricity to ensure minimum load-shedding in the country.The Prime Minister asked the minister to sensitize the people about the energy conservation. He said that in case of load-shedding, it should be publicized to the general public well in advance so that they could adjust their engagements accordingly.He directed the Ministry of Water and Power to take effective measures to ensure that the entire energy chain works in sync so that efficiency of the system could be further improved.
