Probationary Officers of 40th Common visits Ombudsman Punjab Office

Lahore: A group of 14 Probationary Officers of 40th Common Training Programme of Civil Services Academy visited the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab for two days, as part of their Field Work. Secretary of the Office of the Ombudsman, Umer Rasool gave a briefing to the participants on the role, functions and responsibilities of the Ombudsman as envisaged in the Punjab Office of the Ombudsman Act, 1997. This was followed by a meeting with Khalid Mehmood, Ombudsman Punjab, who gave an insightful overview of the working of the institution and also answered the questions and concerns of the participants in a friendly atmosphere.

The probationary Officers were also attached with the Advisors and Consultants (Investigation Officers) of the Ombudsman Office to enable them to observe the complaint-handling and investigation proceedings undertaken for redressing the grievances of the public. The probationary Officers would be submitting a report to the Academy regarding their experience of the visit to the Ombudsman’s Office in due course.
