DG Rescue1122 reviews emergency plan

Lahore: The Director General Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Dr. Rizwan Naseer has directed all the district emergency officers (DEOs) of Punjab to remain alert and ensure provision of swift emergency ambulance, rescue and fire services to mourning processions and other citizens during Ashura.
Following special directives by the Home Department, rescuers shall perform their duties during Moharram-ul-Harram and will provide first aid besides shifting seriously injured azadaars to base hospitals.
DG Rescue 1122 Dr Rizwan Naseer on Wednesday reviewed the arrangements for providing emergency care to the mourners during Moharram. He said that such precautionary steps were necessary for the safety of mass gatherings so that any kind of untoward incident could be responded properly. He, however, asked the citizens to extend their cooperation with the Rescue 1122 officials and always give way to the Rescue Emergency Ambulances. “Kindly dial 1122 in case of emergency, as timely call can ensure timely rescue,” he asked the citizens.
As per emergency plan, trained rescuers will discharge their professional duties in different shifts in Punjab. Three special monitoring teams under the supervision of Provincial Monitoring Cell (PMC) will evaluate the performance of rescuers of each district and will submit their final report to the Director General during Moharram.
In Lahore, emergency medical technicians and other rescue officials along with 24 emergency ambulances, 11 fire vehicles, two rescue vehicles and 46 mobile posts shall provide medical cover to the processions. Rescue posts will be established at Imam Bargah Bhakewal More, Samanabad, Niaz Baig Village, Ali Raza Abad, Kotha Pind, Cavalry Ground, H-Block Model Town, A-Block Model Town, Nishat Colony/ R.A Bazaar, Batapur Attokey Awan, Adda Shabil Hando Village, Gamay Shah, Aziz Pully, Lalpul Mughalpura, Islampura, Rang Mahal Chowk, Bhaati Chowk, Imamia Colony and Jafria Colony, Shahdara.
