Unity of religious forces must to oust pro-US elements

Lahore:: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has
said that any electoral alliance aimed at securing religious votes to serve the agenda of Pervez Musharraf or Zardari could be beneficial for any other religious or political party but not the JI.
Addressing the participants of the JI central workshop at Mansoora, he said that the unity of the religious forces was imperative. However, he said, that in the past, certain people had breached the trust of the nation as, after being elected in the name of Deen, they sided with the US slaves an the secular forces.

Syed Munawar Hasan said that the secular forces and those serving Washington’s agenda were always active during the elections, and it would be advisable for the religious forces to forget the past and forge unity in their ranks in order to oust the secular elements and to throw out the US from the region.

The JI Ameer said that the Tableeghi Jamaat, the Jamaat al Dawa and the Tanzeem e Islami were big forces and if their members and workers were motivated to exercise their right of vote, a grand victory would be achieved in the lections, and in that case, those desiring US supremacy in the region would not find any refuge here.
Syed Munawar Hasan further said that if the nation wanted an end to the target killings, extortion and extremism in Karachi and Hyderabad, it should vote for the religious forces.
