US on way to extinction: Syed Munawar Hassan

Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat eIslami,Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that the fall of the USA had started and .

In a press statement here on Tuesday, he said that the petitions from as many as 20USstates for secession clearly meant that likeBritainandSoviet Union, theUSAas super power was on the path of extinction.

He said, the major reason behind theUS’s fall would be its enmity towards Islam and the Muslims which drove it into the war inIraqandAfghanistan, and its protection to the blasphemers and those involved in the desecration of the Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet.

He said, the wars inIraqandAfghanistanhad already ruined theUSeconomy as thousands of its industries had been closed causing large scale unemployment, and scores of its leading banks and financial institutions had gone bankrupt because of heavy war expenditure. As the end to the Afghan war was not in sight, the morale of theUStroops was going down which also affected theUSsociety as a whole. Besides, theUShad suffered losses of trillions due to the recentSandystorm. Time was not far off when the USAtoo would become a tale of the distant past.

Meanwhile, while commenting on the Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf’s statement that the affluent people were not ready to pay taxes, Syed Munawar Hasan said that the people did not pay taxes because they knew that the rulers were openly evading taxes, and so they did not trust the rulers. He said, in civilized societies, whenever any public functionary was accused of corruption or misuse of power, he would step down voluntarily. However, in our society, it was just the opposite. The Prime Minister himself had been accused of massive corruption in the Rental Power projects but he was occupying the highest executive office of the country. Similarly, President Zardari had been known as Mr. Ten Per Cent during Benazir Bhutto’s rule and now he had gone much ahead.

The JI Ameer said that the present government had acquiring record loans from abroad as well as from internal sources but no body knew where all this money was going as the PPP lead government had not begun any major project. Besides, the government had been persistently raising the prices of POL, gas and electricity due to which the lives of the people had become miserable while the rulers’ luxuries continued as usual.
