Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf stands firm on party elections

Islamabad: PTI has decided to mobilize public against current ruling elite by starting a mass public contact campaign after Muharam. Yesterday Chairman Imran Khan headed an important meeting of political strategy committee in Islamabad and other party leaders Justice Wajih ud Din Ahmed, Dr Arif Alvi, Jahangir Tareen, Saifullah Niazi, Shafqat Mahmoo, Omer Cheema, Naeem ul Haq, Asad Umar, Mrs Taj Roghani were also present at the meeting. Agenda for the meeting was the upcoming general elections and intra party elections and different strategies were discussed in the meeting.

On the occasion members of the committee gave suggestions regarding mobilization of people in the current political scenario. During the meeting PML-N’s advertising campaign was also condemned and leaders said that Punjab government’s use of public money for pre-poll rigging is an insult of people’s mandate. Chairman Imran Khan said that PTI will never allow spending of public money for personal advertisement. PTI is a symbol of change and all the status quo parties have united against PTI. He said that PTI will start its mass public contact campaign from Punjab. Regarding the intra-party elections chairman said that no party in subcontinent has done this before and PTI will conduct these intra-party elections at any cost and will make sure that the election process is transparent.

In the first round elections will be conducted in Islamabad from November 18, 2012 and after that all over the country step by step. Imran said that the new and old party members are our asset and we respect everyone’s opinion. Party has no conflicts and our motive is to bring change and serve the nation. In the meeting MirPur’s November 15, 2012 Jalsa was also discussed. It was decided that chairman will announce a Kashmir policy on the occasion which will start a new struggle for the rights of Kashmiris.
