MP chalks out plan for traffic flow on tableghi ijtama

Lahore: National Highways and Motorway Police N-5 Central have made exceptional measures to continue even flow traffic, lessen the burden of vehicular traffic on Lahore Traffic System and ease the participants of annual four day Tableeghi Jamaat first phase Congregation at Raiwind starting from 09 November 2012 to 11 November 2012.

A comprehensive strategy has been planned in a high level meeting under the supervision of DIG N-5 Central Rai Altaf Hussain. According to the directions traffic is being diverted towards Raiwind from EME link road, Mohlanwal road, Sunder road, Manga road and traffic coming from Motorway is being diverted to Thokar Niaz Baig to Raiwind. Additional patrolling vehicles have added to cover the rush areas. Direction signs have be displayed at appropriate locations in coordination with City Traffic Police. A control room has been established at NH&MP Guidance Center Lahore which will coordinate with control room at Ijtima and NH&MP officers have been deployed at main control room at Riawind who will update regarding the release of traffic volume on dispersal day. NH&MP ambulances along with Regional Medical Officer and para medical staff have been asked to be alert 24 hours. Similarly, the recovery vehicles will also be standby to respond to any untoward situation. Further, a close liaison has been made with City Traffic Police to manage the event affairs with mutual cooperation. SSP central-I Mirza Faran Baig will personally monitor the whole process to ensure that the whole process goes smooth.
