Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the statements of the President, the Chief Justice, Pakistan and the Army Chief were both a coincidence and an eye opener, and the country could not afford any supra constitutional dispensation now.
In a statement here on Tuesday, he said it was an admitted fact that the PPP led government was a total failure and the rulers had pushed the country to the point of bankruptcy politically, morally as well as economically. The situation demanded immediate announcement of election schedule and the setting up a truly impartial, interim set up to hold the polls.
Meanwhile, while talking to eminent Kashmiri leader and ex Chairman, All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Abdul Ghani Bhatt at Mansoora, Liaqat Baloch said that ties with India could not be improved by ignoring the Kashmir issue and the will of the Kashmiris struggling for freedom. He said that India, with the support of the US, has been denying the Kashmiris their right to self determination and continuing untold brutalities on the Kashmiris. At the same time, India was involved in terrorism and subversion in Balochistan and Karachi in a bid to destabilize this country. He said the rulers were keen to improve ties with India only to please Washington and had even pushed the core issue of Kashmir to the back burner. However, the JI won’t allow the rulers to sell pout Kashmir at the US bidding.
