Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has said that the aim of national progress and prosperity can only be achieved through equipping the new generation with the latest knowledge. Keeping in view this fact, he said, Punjab government has adopted a solid strategy for the promotion of modern and quality education in the province. He said that more than one lakh laptops have been distributed among talented boy and girl students on merit while the second phase of laptops distribution programme is being started from Bahawalpur under which more than one lakh laptops will be given and the brilliant students of evening classes as well as seminaries will also be eligible for this programme. He said that Pak-Turk schools of Pak-Turk Education Foundation are playing an important role in the promotion of quality education.
He was talking to Chairman Pak-Turk Schools Unal Tosur during a meeting, here today. Regional Director Pak-Turk Schools Saadi Yildirir was also present on the occasion. The Chief Minister said that education is the only way towards rapid development and the funds spent on education are not expenditure but fruitful investment. He said that the strategy adopted by Punjab government for the development of education sector and promotion of education has yielded positive results. He said that Daanish schools, educational fund, encouragement of brilliant students, setting up of IT labs and laptops distribution scheme are revolutionary steps of Punjab government and leaving a positive impact on education sector. He said that just as lakhs of boy and girl students are benefiting from IT labs in schools, similarly brilliant students are also gaining knowledge about the changing global trends through their laptops. He said that laptops distribution programme of Punjab government is a commendable step which is not only generating employment opportunities for the youth but also enabling them to play their role in national progress and development by equipping themselves with latest knowledge. The Chief Minister said that the growing interaction between Punjab and Turkey will further expand friendly relations. He said that while Turk companies are investing in transport, sanitation, energy and other sectors in Punjab, the Pak-Turk schools are playing an important role in imparting modern knowledge to the youth of the province.
Chairman Pak-Turk Schools Unal Tosur said that there are deep rooted brotherly and friendly relations between Turkey and Pakistan and the bilateral relations between the people of the two countries are strengthening with the passage of time. He said that Pak-Turk schools are equipping the youth with the quality education and latest knowledge.
