At least 26 persons died in a collision between a wagon and a truck

Lahore: At least 26 persons died including 07 women & 04 children and 06 injured in a dreadful collision between a wagon and a truck at by pass near Bahawalpur.

Zonal Commander DIG Rai Altaf Hussain has ordered fact finding inquiry. According to preliminary information accident took place as the wagon driver took careless U-turn without noticing high speed truck heading toward it. After the accident, Motorway Police immediately reached the spot and helped injured passengers to be hospitalized. Similarly other emergency services and local Police were coordinated by Motorway Police for rescue. DIG Rai Altaf Ordered to form a committee to determine the exact cause of accident.

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives in a traffic accident near Bahawalpur Bypass.

In a condolence message, the Chief Minister prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the members of the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
