Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that cleanliness is an article of our faith, and a comprehensive system of sanitation is being introduced, in all the big cities of the province in view of the burgeoning population. He said, with the cooperation of Turkish companies, a significant improvement has been registered in sanitation arrangements in the provincial metropolis, while this latest system is also being introduced in other big cities of the province.
He said that the new solid waste management system, implemented in Lahore, would also be introduced in Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Multan and Gujranwala during the current year, while this modern system of cleanliness would be extended eventually to all major cities of the province. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said he was greatly impressed by the exemplary system of sanitation in a big city like Istanbul, after which agreement was signed between Turkish solid waste management companies and Punjab government, owing to special interest taken by Mayor Istanbul Kadir Topbas. He said that cooperation with regard to solid waste management is being further promoted with the Turkish companies.
