Lahore: Balochistan National Party (BNP) central leader and former MNA, Sardar Abdur Rauf Mengal, called on the Jamaat e Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch at his residence here on Tuesday. JI deputy Secretary General Dr Farid Ahemd Pirqacha and Zafar Jamal Baloch were also present.
At the meeting, the BNP leader appreciated the role of the JI in highlighting the Balochistan problem. However, he deplored that the government was showing total apathy towards the Balochistan situation and there was no headway in this regard. He said that the families of the missing persons from Balochistan were highly worried and wanted the earliest recovery of their dear ones.
Sardar Mengal said the youth from Balochistn were disturbed and were in protest. Many of them had left the country while many others had gone up the hills. The government had made lives of their families miserable without any valid cause.
On the occasion, Liaqat Baloch said that the JI had always supported the genuine demands of the Balochistan people. He stressed that the packages announced by the government for Balochistan should be implemented faithfully and the right of the people on the resources of the province should be accepted. He reiterated the JI demand that Pervez Musharraf be brought to the country through Interpol and tried in the murder case of Nawab Akbar Bugti. He also stressed that the issue of the missing people should be resolved promptly.
