Provincial Zakat Council approves budget for the year 2012-13

Lahore: and funds have been allocated under the heads of technical educational institutions, national and provincial level hospitals , subsistence allowance, educational scholarships general, educational scholarships for seminaries, healthcare and marriage grant.

This approval was given in a meeting held in the office of Chairman Provincial Zakat Council presided over by Chief Administrator Zakat and Provincial Secretary Zakat & Ushar Capt. (Retd) Jehanzeb Khan, here today. Administrator Zakat Punjab Muhammad Yousaf Butt, Deputy Administrator Zakat (Field) Rana Muhammad Sajjad Babar, Khawaja Abdul Qayyum, Sakina Shaheen, Members of the Council and representatives of Finance, Social Welfare and Local Government Departments were present on the occasion.

Provincial Zakat Council while giving unanimous approval to the budget has allocated Rs.893.945 million for technical educational institutions of the province and Rs.244.100 million for 35 hospitals of national and provincial level and Rs.233.767 million under the head of administrative expenses.

The meeting presided over by Chief Administrator Zakat Capt. (Retd) Jehanzeb Khan gave approval to Rs.1238.988 million under the permanent heads of Zakat which include Rs.743.393 million under the head of subsistence allowance, Rs.223.018 for educational scholarships general, Rs.99.119 million under the head of educational scholarships for seminaries, Rs.74.339 million regarding healthcare of “Mustahqeen” in district and tehsil headquarters hospitals and Rs.99.1119 million under the head of marriage grant while Rs.1.200 million were allocated for the treatment of leprosy patients living in Ahata Korhian, Rawalpindi. Furthermore, various important matters were also considered in the meeting and approval was sought on important matters by the members of the council.
