Chines Ambassador calls on Chaudry Brothers

Islamabad: Ambassador of China in Pakistan Mr Liu Jian called on Pakistan Muslim League President Senator Ch Shujat Hussain and Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi here today. On this occasion, PML Secretary General Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed was also present. During the meeting, views were exchanged in the context of bilateral relations.

Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi said China is fast emerging world power and in the changing international circumstances role of China is very important, Pakistan is fortunate to have a neighbor like China with whom its relations are becoming stronger and cemented further with every passing day. They said that entire nation is unanimous in this regard that China is a sincere well-wisher of Pakistan and there is need to further expand relations with China. They said that rapid development of China is very much impressive and is a beacon light for other developing countries.

On this occasion, Mushahid Hussain Sayed said that for its economic development Pakistan should concentrate on regional trade. He said throughout the world regional trade is being promoted and new trade blocs are being formed. He said the growth rate of China is more than 10 per cent for the last more than two decades. He said Pakistan has ample trade opportunities with China being its neighbor.

Ch Parvez Elahi invited the Chinese investors to invest in Pakistan and said that the Chinese investors can invest in energy, infrastructure. Agriculture, heavy industries and minerals sectors adding at Pakistan Government would provide every possible facility and protection to the Chinese investors. He said that during our last tenure, we had signed a number of agreements with Chinese province Jiangsu which produced appreciable results and national industry made press.

In response the Chinese Ambassador said lot of goodwill for Pakistan exists among Chinese people and the government and there is need to further strengthen relations between the two countries at the peoples level.
