Lahore: Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that access to justice is the right of every citizen and without ensuring it, the dream of constitution of peaceful society cannot be materialized. He said that the lawyers play important role for ensuring provision of justice to the citizens.
He was addressing an international Conference “Peace through Law” arranged by Supreme Court Bar Association Pakistan at Avari Hotel, here today. President Supreme Court Bar Association Muhammad Yaseen Azad, President Supreme Court Bar Association India Parveen H. Paresh, President High Court Bar Association Chandigarh & Hariyana Dilbeer Singh Dhawal, delegates from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan and a large number of lawyers were also present on the occasion. Rana Sanaullah said that this conference is very useful and as per demands of the hour. He said that the recommendations presented in the conference will be helpful both for judiciary and the government and in the light of these recommendations, we will be able to evolve a comprehensive strategy. He said that the lawyers’ community has played an exemplary role for the supremacy of law, provision of justice to the people and independent judiciary and will continue to do so in future as well.
Law Minister said that the democratic institutions and nations strengthen through on board accountability and supremacy of law. He said that the nation has expressed confidence in the independent decisions of judiciary which reflects that we are marching towards betterment. He said that the efforts of Supreme Court Bar and other Bar Associations regarding establishment of independent judiciary and restoration of democracy are laudable. He said that the Bar has always played an important role for strengthening democracy and rule of law.
Earlier, Rana Sanaullah presented a cheque of Rs.5 crore to President Supreme Court Bar Association Pakistan Muhammad Yaseen Azad on behalf of Punjab government.
