Islamabad: Minister of Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Thursday that to the new generation.

Talking to a delegation of Chinese media that called on him here, he said Pakistan and China should encourage exchange of expertise and experience in the field of media.He said both the countries must work to establish news sharing mechanism between major media organizations. He said launching of FM-98 would help understand each other’s culture and heritage.

The minister said for the strengthening of bilateral relations its important that media personnel of both the countries regularly visit each other’s countries.Exchange of media delegations between Pakistan and China, he said, has been a regular feature and plays an important role in changing impression and perceptions. ” We highly value our historic ties with China because Beijing has major role in the development of Pakistan and relations between the two nations cannot be compared with any other nation.”

Kaira said friendship with China is the corner stone of Pakistan’s foreign policy.” Mutual trust, excellent allround cooperation and unanimity of views on regional and global issues provide solid foundation for our bilateral relations”, he said.

The Minister said Pak-China relations are not only a factor of peace and stability in the region but also a role model for other Nations to follow.He said relations between the two countries have been further cemented after the frequent exchange of visits by the top leadership of the two countries.

The Minster said it is important to promote people to people contacts and in particular exchange of youth delegations will help our friendship trickle down to the younger generations.

Leader of the delegation Director General of China Radio International Wang Geng Nian said launching of FM 98 is milestone in the history of media relations between Pakistan and China.

Earlier one on one meeting with President of China Radio International the minister said Radio is very old medium to share information with the people. He informed the visiting guest that China Radio programmes are very popular in Pakistan.

Wang Geng Nian said that launching of FM-98 radio would further improve bilateral relations in the field of media.

Secretary Information and Broadcasting Ch. Rashid Ahmed, Managing Director PTV Yusuf Baig Mirza, Managing Director Radio Murtaza Solangi and Managing Director Associated Press of Pakistan Rao Tehseen Ali Khan were also present in the meeting.
