Former federal minister Makhdoom Ahmad Alam Anwar joins PML-N

Lahore: Former federal minister and leader of Muslim League-Q Makhdoom Ahmad Alam Anwar met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at Model Town today and expressing complete confidence in the leadership of President Pakistan Muslim League-N Muhammad Nawaz Sharif announced his decision to join PML-N. Leader of PML-N Barrister Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha and Abdul Ghafoor Advocate were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that PML-N will further strengthen with the joining of Makhdoom Ahmad Alam Anwar. Welcoming senior politician Makhdoom Ahmad Alam Anwar in PML-N, the Chief Minister said that PML-N policies for the stability of democracy, strengthening of institutions and progress and prosperity of the masses are being widely appreciated and the joining of Makhdoom Ahmad Alam Anwar is a proof of the growing popularity of PML-N. He said that service to the people is the mission of PML-N and its candidates will win with a thumping majority in the forthcoming general elections.

Makhdoom Ahmad Alam Anwar said that he has full confidence in the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Punjab government of PML-N is a unique example of public service. He said that Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is making every effort for the progress and prospeiryt of the people of the province. He said that Punjab government has added a new chapter to national history by laying a network of development projects throughout the province during the last four years. Makhdoom Ahmad Alam Anwar paid glowing tributes to Chief Minister Punjab for his development vision and the steps taken for the welfare and uplift of the masses.

Makhdoom Syed Ahmad Alam Anwar was born in 1945 in D.G. Khan, Punjab. He has been elected for his fourth term as MNA as an Independent Candidate. He is politically affiliated with PML.
An agriculturist by profession, he graduated from the Government College, Lahore in 1964. He has served as MNA for the terms of 1985-1988, 1988-1990 and 1990-1993.
Father of a son and three daughters, he has travelled to Saudi Arabia, U.S.A, U.K, Turkey, Iran, U.A.E and China. His hobbies include study of history and literature, gardening and tourism.
