Transparent distribution of Bait-ul-Mal fund should be ensured:Malik Tahir

Secretary Social Welfare and Ameen Punjab Bait-ul-Mal Council, Malik Tahir Sarfraz Awan has said that transparent distribution of Bait-ul-Mal fund should be ensured and the record of deserving persons receiving the assistance be computerized.

He was presiding over a meeting of Punjab Bait-ul-Mal Council at the office of Social Welfare Department here today. Director General Social Welfare Malik Aslam, Director Admn. Abdul Qadous Akhtar, Director Planning Salman, Director Publication Arshad Waheed as well as government and non-government members attended the meeting. Director General gave a detailed briefing to the meeting regarding aims and objectives of Punjab Bait-ul-Mal Council and its performance.

Malik Tahir Sarfraz said that Bait-ul-Mal fund is a trust of deserving persons and its basic aim is their social assistance. He said that rehabilitation of those who are facing financial constraints due to some disability, disease or social attitudes is the responsibility of all of us. He directed that all districts Bait-ul-Mal committees should ensure transparent distribution of funds allocated for dowry and education. He said that action will be taken against that district committee which will make change in the distribution of funds or will not provide these funds to the deserving persons. He said that besides government efforts, welfare organizations and philanthropists can also play role in the social and economic rehabilitation of deserving persons.

Different suggestions and proposals presented by government and non-government members in the meeting were also considered in detail.
