N-League govt has given free hand to dacoits in Punjab: Chuadry Pervaiz Elahi

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League senior central leader and Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has said that besides rendering surplus province during our tenure as bankrupt, N-League govt has given free hand to dacoits and thieves and every person is suffering from insecurity due to increase in crime rate in the province.

Addressing PML Workers Convention in Gujrat today, Ch Parvez Elahi said that unrest has been caused also due to stoppage of the Special Allowance and petrol of the patrolling police given to the Punjab Police during our tenure. Ch Parvez Elahi said that daily thousands of people are becoming victims of dacoits daily throughout the province but there is none to check them. He said that during our tenure, Police employees were given Special Allowance of Rs 2000 but the present Chief Minister stopped it immediately coming into power. He said not only this Special Allowance will be restored, but also all other facilities and amenities given to Police during our regime would also be restored and arrears would also be paid.

Continuing, Ch Parvez Elahi said that in order to curb crime in rural areas and on roads we had established Police Patrolling Posts but the present Chief Minister also stopped issuance of petrol to them because of which these are not playing their due role fully. He said cattle theft is common in the villages, no road, street or path is save from robbers. He said that crime rate in the province is increasing due to inefficiency, failure and negative tactics of the provincial govt, lives and properties of the people are not safe, dacoits and thieves are roaming freely in the urban and rural areas in the province and there is none to check and control them. He said Police has become helpless and likewise, every sector and department is suffering from degradation instead of improving their performance.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that the people are fed up with lawlessness, maladministration, loot and plunder, corruption and unemployment as a result of the faulty and defective policies of N-League and they would vote for our candidates in the bye-elections. He stressed upon the party leaders and workers to further promote service to the people and welfare activities from the platform of PML.

On this occasion, former MNA Rahman Naseer, former Provincial Education Minister Mian Imran Masood, former District Nazim Gujrat Ch Shafaat Hussain and Raja Abid of Muladar also spoke. Large number of former Nazims Union Councils including former Tehsil Nazim Mian Haroon Masood, party leaders and workers were among those who attended the Workers Convention.
