Baluchistan should be addressed seriously: Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad has said that Baluchistan is an important part of Pakistan and if it will be made strong, then Pakistan will also be stable. He said that we will have to march forward seriously by considering the problems of Baloch brethren as our own problems. He said it is obligatory for us all that the genuine problems and difficulties of Baluchistan should be addressed seriously.

The Chief Minister said that people of Punjab are standing with the people of Baluchistan and Pakistan Muslim League-N under the leadership of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is paying special attention to the resolution of problems of Baloch people. He said that Pakistan Muslim League-N will continue to support all genuine demands of Baloch people within the ambit of the constitution.

He expressed these views while witnessing a cricket match between Bolan Medical College Quetta and King Edward Medical University Lahore at Model Town Cricket Ground here today which was organized by District Government Lahore. Special Assistant Kh. Salman Rafique, District Coordination Officer Lahore and a large number of male and female students of Baluchistan were present on the occasion.

Talking to media-men on the occasion, Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that playing of cricket by the students of Bolan Medical College in Lahore is a good omen. He said that Punjab is their own home and people of Punjab have great love for their Baloch brethren. The Chief Minister said that sports are a source of constitution of a healthy society and enhancing mutual love and affection. He said that Punjab government is paying special attention to the promotion of sports in the province. When the Chief Minister arrived at cricket ground, players of both the teams were introduced to him. He witnessed cricket match for a long time and highly appreciated the performance of players. The Chief Minister also photographed with Baloch male and female students.

National songs in Urdu and Balochi languages were played during the match and the audience were dancing on Balochi songs. The spectators enjoyed every ball of the match and gave applause to the players on every shot.

 

Meanwhile, Ambassador of Netherlands in Pakistani Hugo Gajus Scheltema called on Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today. Matters of mutual interest including enhancing cooperation in agriculture, livestock, energy and other sectors were discussed during the meeting. Vice Chairman Punjab Investment Board Muftah Ismail was also present on the occasion.
