Commissioner Lahore advise DCO’s to start giving Green Tractors to the allotees

Commissioner Lahore Division Jawad Rafique Malik has advised District Coordination Officers of all the four districts to start the process of provision of tractors to the youth expeditiously on the applications received through balloting for Green Tractor Scheme.

He issued these orders while presiding over a meeting regarding implementation of Green Tractor Scheme, at the Commissioner’s office, here today. The meeting was also attended by DCOs Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib besides EDO Agriculture, Assistant Director Planning and officers of other departments. The meeting also reviewed the balloting conducted for green tractor scheme in all the four districts. The Commissioner directed DCOs to immediately dispose of the pending applications and said that the participation of such rural youth in green tractor scheme should be ensured who are between the age of 18 to 30. He further directed the officers to scrutinize the applications received through transparent balloting for green tractor scheme purely on merit.

Earlier, it was informed in the report presented by EDO Agriculture that booking of 790 tractors in district Lahore, 168 in Kasur and Sheikhupra and 76 in Nankana Sahib has been made. The commissioner said that transparency should be ensured in the provision of tractors. He said that the green tractor scheme is an exemplary project of Punjab government which has been launched for the welfare and betterment of the rural youth and its scope has been extended to tehsil level so that maximum youth could benefit from this scheme.
