PTI condemns attack on young peace activist, Malala Yusufzai

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Chairman Imran Khan, Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Secretary General Dr. Arif Alvi, President Javed Hashmi and Information secretary Shafqat Mahmood strongly condemned attack on school van carrying Pakistan’s youngest Peace award winner Malala Yusufzai by terrorists while going back from school, injuring her and other two others. PTI condemns those perpetrating terror attacks and hold that sheer lack of concern regarding law and order by the current government led to this incident. It calls for a thorough investigation of the matter besides providing the best possible treatment to this brave girl and the others injured.

Malala had been receiving threats to her life but the government did not take the required steps to address the issue. We as a nation are proud of this young girl who was working very hard for the promotion of peace and education in her hometown. PTI has always supported the role of women in building a better image of Pakistan. Stern action should be taken by the law enforcing agencies against the people who committed this cowardly act. The Provincial and federal government both have failed miserably to protect and safeguard a common man’s life and they seem to be helpless in controlling these acts of violence. PTI believes that such valuable assets of our country need to be safeguarded to ensure a bright future of Pakistan. The party leaders pray for the speedy recovery of this courageous girl.
