Karachi: Pakistan Muslim League President Senator Ch Shujat Hussain has said that Balochistan issue cannot be resolved single handedly by an individual, party, institution and govt and for this purpose all of us will have to make efforts together and this issue can be resolved today through implementation of the unanimous recommendations prepared by our Parliamentary Committee. He said this while talking to media along with party’s Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed, PML Sindh President Ghaus Bakhsh Maher and PML Balochistan President Jam Muhammad Yousuf in Karachi today. In Karachi, he held meetings with Pir of Pagaro Pir Sibghitullah Shah Rashdi and prominent MQM leaders at 90 and exchanged views with them on wide ranging subjects. He was warmly welcomed by the hosts. At 90, a kilometer long line of workers carrying bouquets enthusiastically greeted him on arrival.
Ch Shujat Hussain said that solution of this issue can be found only those living in Balochistan, we all are duty bound to work for peace in Sindh and Balochistan, if the recommendations of our Parliamentary Committee headed by Mushahid Hussain were implemented the issue would have been resolved because all partiers including those of Balochistan were unanimous over these recommendations. He said that the Parliamentary Committee had given one point agenda adding that this issue cannot be resolved by points, the points may be 6 or 10, solution should be found and presented. He said there is no need for point scoring in this regard and all would have to make efforts together to resolve this issue. He maintained that no individual, govt, party, army or judiciary can resolve this issue single handed. He said that deprivations of Balochistan should be removed. He said our association with Balochistan is not of today but it is very old. He said that when Sardar Akhtar Mengal’s fqather Sardar Attaullah Mengal was removed as Chief Minister Balochistan, then his father Zahur Elahi Shaheed had invited him rto visit Gujrat and arranged a big meeting in his honour in Gujrat which was also addressed by Sardar Attaullah Mengal.
In reply to a question, Ch Shujat Hussain said that establishing peace in Sindh is also the duty of all of us. He said we had given formula for solution of electricity load shedding implementation of which could have reduced load shedding immediately. Replying to another question, he emphatically stated that votes of the people and not the surveys decide and decision about survey would be made in the general election and then it will be known where everyone stands.
He said that useful and frank discussions were held with MQM leaders and Pir of Pagaro, Replying to another question, Ch Shujat Hussain said that Local Bodies Ordinance bill is being presented in the Sindh Provincial Assembly tomorrow, we would be meeting the Chief Minister today and our parliamentary party meeting is to be held tomorrow in which we would take the decision. He said those leaving our party despite their wings being cut are coming back to us.
PML Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed said that we are grateful to MQM and Pir of Pagaro for their invitations, warm hospitality and enthusiastic reception. He said that views were exchanged with them on wide ranging subjects including Balochistan.
In response to questions from the media, he said that Balochistan issue is not so grave issue that it cannot be resolved. He said injustice and oppression there should end there. He said the Parliamentary Committee headed by him after deliberations on every aspect and through mutual consultations and unanimity had prepared the recommendations and presented solution of the problems. He said that there is still time that these recommendations should be implemented. Replying to a question, he said some members of the establishment and bureaucracy and also some politicians are obstructing solution of this issue. He said we have very close personal and political relations with MQM and Pir of Pagaro and there is harmony among us politically also adding that our thinking on Pakistan, Federation and other matters is national thinking.
