A batch of 42 students complete training of culinary arts

Lahore: A batch of 42 students, studying in schools partnered with the Punjab education foundation under its foundation assisted schools program, has completed its three months extensive training of culinary arts from the college of tourism & hotel management (COTHM).

The training was arranged by the PEF for its students, all aged 14 and above, under skills development program, to develop the partner schools students as trained human resource so that they could help alleviate poverty of their families in the future.

The certificates distribution ceremony was held in the COTHM Gulberg campus with PEF chairman Raja Anwar in the chair. MD-PEF Ms. Ambreen Raza, PEF-Director (CPDP) Ms. Bushra Saeed Khan, Executive Director COTHM Ahmad Shafiq and other PEF high officials also attended the ceremony.

PEF chairman Raja Anwar said that PEF was working to provide gratis education to the children of poor families and added that various other steps have also been taken, besides provision of education, to help improve the intellectual ken of the students. Free training of various professional courses has been arranged by the PEF for its secondary level students to help them in finding respectable jobs if they want to enter in job-market after matriculation, he maintained. It will also provide trained human resource to our industry, he added.

PEF-MD Ms. Ambreen Raza hoped that this useful program will benefit the students in their future life and observed that skills based education will give an opportunity to the girl students to help their families. ED COTHM Ahmad Shafiq also addressed the function. Besides him, course participants thanked the PEF in their addresses and said that this training has helped them in improving their skills.

Later, PEF chairman Raja Anwar distributed certificates among the students.
