No society can survive without predominance of law:CM Punjab

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, has said that no society can survive without predominance of law and justice. He said that access to justice is the right of every person and provision of justice to the people without any discrimination is the responsibility of the state. He said that provision of immediate and cheap justice and resolution of the problems of the people is his mission for which all out resources are being utilized. The Chief Minister while issuing orders for the arrest of accused involved in various incidents of murders within a week said that strict action would be taken against police officers showing negligence in this regard.

He was listening to the problems of the complainants of various districts here today. Member National Assembly Pervaiz Malik, IG Police Haji Habib ur Rehman and police officers of concerned districts were also present on this occasion. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif while talking on the occasion said that the oppressors will be taken to task and oppressed will be provided help. He said that in case of any oppression, law will definitely take its course and provision of justice to the oppressed families will be ensured by bringing the culprits to justice. He directed police officers to deal with those coming to police stations for help and justice politely and decently and their complaints should be addressed on priority basis.

A complainant from Attock Muhammad Ijaz informed that his son had been murdered six months ago but the culprits have not been arrested so far. Assuring provision of justice to the complainant, Shahbaz Sharif directed the police to arrest the accused involved in this incident within two weeks. On a complaint of kidnapping of the daughter of a woman complainant from Sheikhupura, the Chief Minister directed to change the investigation of this case and take measures for bringing back the alleged accused which had fled to Dubai. He directed that a special team should also be sent to Karachi for apprehending other culprits. On the complaint of murder of Shah Nawaz Butt’s son from Shahdbagh Lahore, Shahbaz Sharif ordered to arrest the culprits within a week.

While consoling Shah Nawaz the Chief Minister said that he cannot bring back his murdered son but justice will definitely be provided. A woman complainant from Narowal informed that two years ago his brother who was a complainant in a firing case had been murdered. The woman who was weeping requested the Chief Minister for help upon which Shahbaz Sharif called for a report of this incident within a week and ordered that the accused involved in this incident be also arrested within a week and action should also be taken against those police officials showing negligence in the arrest of accused involved in firing incident two years ago.

A complainant from Burki village told the Chief Minister that his six family members have been killed since 2007 whereas a number of people have become disabled, 27 children have become orphan and five women widow. The accused involved in these incidents are absconders and they are also hurling threats to them. The Chief Minister directed that a comprehensive briefing be given to him about these incidents after one week and action should also be taken against the police officers showing negligence in the arrest of accused involved in these incidents.
