Delegation of PPP office bearers call on President

Lahore: President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday urged the Pakistan Peoples Party office bearers to step up efforts for reaching out to the people in their respective areas and address their issues at their doorsteps, besides preparing the workers for the next general elections.

He expressed confidence that the party will win the elections despite challenges, the government and the party was facing on various fronts.

The President was talking to a delegation of PPP Punjab office bearers, which called on him here at the Governor House.The delegation included among others Raja Riaz, Imtiaz Safdar Warraich, Haji Chan, Zulfikar Gondal, Shaukat Basra, Ashraf Sohna and Amer Dogar.

Matters pertaining to reorganization of the party, preparations for the upcoming general elections and development issues in their respective areas were discussed during the meeting. The office bearers expressed full confidence in the leadership of the party and the government and appreciated the steps being taken for the welfare and uplift of the common people in the country.
