How many lives CM want to take? : Ch Pervaiz Elahi

Lahore: Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has asked how many lives rulers of Punjab want to take and said that their interest in the welfare of the people can well be judged by the fact that the Burn Unit established by us at Jinnah Hospital Lahore has not been made functional yet otherwise many lives of workers seriously injured in big factory fire yesterday could be saved. He was talking to media after attending “Qul” ceremony of Pakistan Muslim League District General Secretary and very old colleague Ch Tufail and his brother in Gujrat today.

He said that during our tenure we had established most modern Burn Unit in Jinnah Hospital but this was made victim of vindictive politics by Shahbaz Sharif and it has not been made functional still. He said if the Burn Unit was working now then many precious lives could have been saved. He said likewise, Cardiology Centre established by our government at Wazirabad was also closed down by Shahbaz Sharif thus depriving the people of modern healthcare facilities.

He said because of negligence and inefficiency of the rulers, the law and order situation in the province has deteriorated to such extent that it has become impossible for them to control it but the people would certainly make them accountable for the loss of innocent people’s precious lives and their properties. He said that worst sort of lawlessness is prevailing all over Punjab.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that due to inefficiency and incompetency of Punjab Rulers, floods have played havoc with the precious lives of people in South Punjab, caused grave damage to standing crops on thousands of acres and destroyed the houses in large number. He said that canals are closed during floods but the Dera Ghazi Khan Canal was not closed by the Provincial Government despite advance information and instead it was breached as a result of which the canal and the floods caused heavy devastation on vast area and dozens of precious human lives were lost.

Earlier while condoling with sons of the late Ch Tufail, Ch Aamer Nadeem and Ch Imran Tufail, Ch Parvez Elahi strongly condemned the brutal double murder. He said that late Ch Tufail was precious asset of the party and his meritorious services cannot be forgotten. He said that we share the grief and sorrow of the bereaved family.
