Massive walk for dengue awareness in Lahore

Lahore: A massive walk was held at Main Boulevard Gulberg today to create awareness in the citizens against dengue virus. The walk which continued from Liberty Chowk to Mian Market Gulberg, was led by Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan. The event was arranged by Punjab Sports Board in cooperation with other departments and institutions of Punjab government and was participated by thousands of citizens, students of schools, colleges and universities, teachers, doctors, nurses, officials engaged in anti-dengue campaign, artists and persons belonging to all sectors of life.
Addressing the participants, Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that the youth participating in Punjab Youth Festival and the citizens of Lahore who have made anti-dengue walk a thumping success, have displayed their determination to eliminate dengue virus. He said that with the participation of 15 lakh players, Punjab Youth Festival has become a memorable event for the countries of this region and it will also go a long way in eradication of dengue from the society.

Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that by participating in the walk against dengue, the Lahorites have proved that we are among the living nations of the world. He said that anti-dengue walk is the biggest walk in the history of Lahore and credit for this goes to Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Chairman Punjab Sports Board, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Secretary Board Usman Anwar and the citizens of Lahore.
