Lahore:The Indian Foreign Minister left for his country after spending a busy day in the city.The Indian Foreign Minister was welcomed by provincial minister Ch Ghafoor at Allama Iqbal Airport on his arrival in the morning.
Later he visited Data Darbar Shrine and Marhi Ranjeet Sing where he was accompanied by provincial Minister Auqaf and Religious Affair Haji Ehsan ud Din and Ch Gahafoor.S M Krishna spent an hour on both shrines and prayed.
Krishna called on the Chief Minister where a meeting took place between the two sides in a cordial environment. CM welcomed Krishna and expressed his delight on the visa agreement signed between Pakistan and India. CM stated that millitary wars were now a thing of the past and the two nations would have to compete with each other in other healthy ways; in the fields of agriculture, t
ourism and commerce.
CM also made it clear that unless and until the Kashmir dispute, water issues and issue of sir creek are not resolved, the peace process and other areas of cooperation would continue to suffer.
CM stated that he is looking forward to hosting the sports festival in Lahore in the coming months in which hockey,kabbaddi and wrestling teams from India would participate. The Indian Foreign Minister made special mention of the efforts of Mian Nawaz Sharif in initiating the peace process back in 1999 and inviting the then Indian PM Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee to come to Lahore by bus.
The Indian High Commissioner stated that when Mian Nawaz Sharif was PM in 98-99, India was planning to import electricity from Pakistan.
He also honored in Governor house ,where he was welcomed by Sardar Latif Khan Khosa.
