CJ LHC heards the problems of the litigants

Lahore: Chief Justice Lahore High Court Mr. Justice Umar Ata Bandial presided over a symposium on the identification of the problems of litigants, their causes and solution in matters arising under section 22-A,22-B,497 and 498 Cr.P C as the courts are heavily burdened with these issues.

Main purpose of this event was to pinpoint difficulties arising from litigation instituted under the said provisions of law, their causes and the extent to which administrative solutions can be adopted to reduce the backlog of cases.

Speaking on the occasion Lahore High Court Chief Justice said that we are all stakeholders of the system of justice and it was our prime responsibility to make wholehearted efforts to reduce inordinate delay in the dispensation of justice and curtail unnecessary expenses of the litigant public.

Hon’ble chief Justice advised the judges to go by the book in all circumstances because at the end of the day we all will be answerable to Allah Almighty. Also write objective ACRs according to the actual work and conduct of the officials. This will help improve the system. Justice Saghir Ahmad Qadri, Justice Nasir Saeed Shiekh, Justice Shiekh Najm ul Hasan., Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, Justice Rauf Ahmad Sheikh, Justice Mazhar Iqbal Sidhu, Justice Syed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi, Justice Abdul Sattar Asghar and Justice Mahmood Maqbool Bajwa also graced the occasion. Registrar Abdul Sattar conducted the proceedings while Sessions Judge Inquiries, Research and Development Javaid Rashid Mahboobi raised some key points regarding registration of cases and its impact on the working of courts.. Vice Chairman and Chairman Executive Committee of the Punjab Bar Council, Presidents and General Secretaries of Bar Associations of Lahore High Court Lahore, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur and Multan shared their experiences and knowledge on the said issues. Advocate General, Inspector General Police and Prosecutor General as well as Secretary Prosecution Punjab, District and Sessions Judges as well as Presidents of District Bar Associations of Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Multan, DG Dhan and Bahawalpur attended the symposium.
