half million youth is participating in Sports Festival:Rana Mashud

Lahore: Number of players participating in ongoing competitions of Punjab Youth and Sports Festival at different places of the province at mohalla and village level has increased from five lakh within only four days. More than 50 thousand youth participated in 30 different competitions in Lahore only, the other day, while this number reached five lakh in 36 districts of the province. Chief Organizer Punjab Youth Festival Rana Mashhood Ahmad and Malik Riaz visited Iqbal Park and entertained the participants by displaying expertise in badminton and ‘Punja Azmai’ competitions. DG Sports Usman Anwar was also present on the occasion. He also met the youth participating the competitions of volleyball, tug of war, badminton and cricket and also witnessed 400, 800, 100 meter race and short put contests.

Addressing on the occasion, Rana Mashhood Ahmad said that the aim of holding youth festival is to provide opportunity to the youth of the country to move forward in the right direction. In billiard competition in UC-96, Block-3 defeated Khawaja Bahari colony. In tug of war, Block-5 defeated White House Lane by 2-0, in Volleyball competition A team Sikandar Road Wapda colony defeated B team by 25-16. In cricket completion at UC-89, Shah Eleven defeated Mutahir Eleven while Rehman Eleven to Haji Eleven, Bilal Eleven to Seheven Eleven and Mashhood Eleven defeated GH Eleven. In the tug of war competitions, Block No.6 defeated Block-D by 2 – 0 while in Volley Ball, Block No.1 defeated Katchi Abadi FC College. In ‘Punja Azmai’ competitions, Hafiz Waqas defeated Qasim Rafaqat by 60-kg, Tahir Hussain defeated Rizwan Akram by 80-kg and Imran Khan defeated Sagheer Hussain by 90-kg. In the badminton competition, Block-2 defeated Canal Park by 3 – 2.
