NHMP declares children their ambassadors for road safety

Lahore: Children are our ambassadors to road safety and National Highways & Motorways Police is paying full concentration to educate the coming generation about road safety rules and traffic law so that we may see better and disciplined drivers on road in future said DIG N-5 Central Zone Rai Altaf Hussain while inspecting the performance of Mobile Education Unit.

DIG Rai Altaf Hussain directed the officers of Mobile Education Unit to ensure maximum visits to educational institutions as these children are future drivers as per special directions of IG Zafer Abbas Lak. The DIG showed his satisfaction upon the performance of Mobile Education Unit after inspection of Appreciation Letters forwarded by different national and multinational companies, Transport Companies, renowned educational institutions, government and semi-governmental institutions etc. DIG further directed the officers to take active part in all the campaigns launched by N-5 Central Zone.

He also stressed the need of educating motorcyclist, cyclists, pedestrians and drivers of slow moving vehicles as this type of road users are involved in most of the accidents on highways. The DIG paid rich tribute to three officers SPO Qasim, SPO Adnan Gul and SPO Imtiaz Hussain who laid their life in the line of duty on mobile education unit and advised the officers to show similar type of enthusiasm in educating the road users as was shown by those martyred officers.
